Summary

Principal Policy Planner needed in Maidenhead

This is a temporary role and the rate is £60.00ph PAYE

The reference number is: 000B 728C / 1

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping and delivering the new Local Plan, leading key workstreams and developing a robust evidence base that underpins high‑quality, sustainable development across the Borough. They will provide strong professional support to the Planning Policy Manager, deputising when required and guiding junior colleagues with clear direction and motivation, including taking ownership of at least one specialist policy area.

They will engage confidently with communities, stakeholders, Members and senior leaders, offering clear, sensitive and authoritative planning advice in a range of formal settings. They will manage external consultants to ensure timely, effective project delivery, work collaboratively with Duty to Cooperate partners, and oversee the day‑to‑day performance and financial monitoring of relevant contracts, ensuring all activity aligns with wider organisational priorities such as the Council Plan and Climate Strategy.
