Summary

Domestic Assistant (School Cleaner)

Pay: £13.88 per hour

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 5 days per week

Working pattern: 52 weeks per year

Shift: The preferred hours are 6.00am-2.00pm. We can also consider 8.00am-4.00pm or a shift starting and finishing between these times.

LVS Hassocks is a multi-award-winning specialist school for autistic young people aged 11 to 19. We provide a calm, nurturing and individualised learning environment where students are supported to grow in confidence, develop their independence and achieve their potential.

About the role

We’re recruiting two Domestic Assistants to join our supportive Domestic Services team. You’ll clean designated areas of the school, helping provide a safe, welcoming and hygienic environment for pupils, employees and visitors.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Cleaning allocated classrooms, offices, communal areas and facilities

• Following cleaning schedules and maintaining high standards

• Using cleaning products, equipment and machinery safely

• Wearing the appropriate uniform and personal protective equipment

• Keeping cleaning equipment and storage areas clean, secure and organised

• Reporting hazards, damage or maintenance issues to your supervisor

• Following health and safety, safeguarding and school procedures

• Supporting colleagues and covering other areas when reasonably required

Full training will be provided, including training in the safe use of cleaning machinery. Previous cleaning experience would be helpful but isn’t essential.

About you

You’ll take pride in your work, be dependable and punctual, and be able to follow instructions. You’ll work well as part of a team and understand the importance of health and safety and pupils’ welfare.
