• Deliver tailored one-to-one and small-group interventions to improve academic progress, confidence and engagement.

• Adapt learning activities to meet individual needs and learning styles.

• Encourage positive behaviour, social development and emotional wellbeing.

• Help create a nurturing, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.

• Monitor progress and provide feedback to teaching staff and the SEN team.

This role offers extensive exposure to a range of SEN needs and provides excellent experience for those considering a long-term career within education, educational psychology, SEND or primary teaching.

Who We Are Looking For

Applications are welcomed from:

• Experienced Learning Support Assistants or Teaching Assistants.

• Graduates with a strong academic background and an interest in special educational needs.

• Aspiring Primary Teachers looking to gain meaningful classroom experience before teacher training.

• Individuals with a genuine passion for supporting children and helping them overcome barriers to learning.

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A degree (or equivalent experience within an educational setting).

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

• Patience, empathy and resilience.

• The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.

• A proactive and flexible approach to supporting learning.

What the School Offers

• A welcoming and inclusive primary school community.

• Excellent support from experienced teachers, SEN professionals and senior leaders.

• Ongoing training and professional development opportunities.

• Exposure to a diverse range of SEND needs and intervention strategies.

• A full academic year position offering outstanding school-based experience.

• An excellent foundation for future teacher training applications and careers in education.

Perfect for Aspiring Teachers

This position is particularly suited to graduates and future Primary Teachers who want to develop their classroom practice, build behaviour management skills and gain a thorough understanding of SEND provision before progressing into teacher training in the coming years.

The school is interviewing immediately and is keen to appoint a committed and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join their established team as soon as possible.

If you are passionate about supporting children with additional needs and want to gain exceptional primary school experience, we would love to hear from you.
