As Lead Diagnostic Radiographer, you will provide clinical and professional leadership for x-ray, fluoroscopy, mobile/theatre and dental imaging services, ensuring high standards of patient care, safety and quality. You will lead service improvement and standardisation, working closely with radiologists, radiographers, physicists, educators and multidisciplinary teams. The role also includes acting as Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) and leading for QSI, CQC and HSE inspections.
As Radiology Education Lead, you will oversee education and workforce development, including training, supervision, CPD, advanced practice and career pathways. You will also work with universities, apprenticeship providers and regional imaging networks to support future workforce needs.

You will be a strong leader committed to quality improvement, innovation and excellent patient care, with flexibility to work across all Royal Marsden sites.
Provide clinical leadership for all x-ray, fluoroscopy, dental, mobile/theatre imaging services, and any future x-ray modalities across all Trust sites. Act as the lead radiographer for service development, clinical excellence and educational visits, and liaise with referrers to ensure the most appropriate imaging examination is selected for each patient.
Ensure the timely, efficient and patient-centred delivery of x-ray services across multiple sites and imaging systems, making best use of available resources. Support staffing arrangements, including on-call provision, and assist the Radiology Services Manager with the operational management of the Imaging Department.
Act as a key point of contact for patients, carers, relatives and colleagues, providing a professional, welcoming and supportive service. Receive and guide patients attending for investigations and ensure relevant previous imaging is available for comparison to support accurate diagnosis and treatment planning.
Support the Radiology Services Manager and imaging leadership team with workforce planning, recruitment and retention initiatives. Review staffing requirements before vacancies are advertised and contribute to the selection of new team members. Line manage Practice Educators and x-ray staff, support Clinical Supervisors within training programmes, and oversee the supervision, training and development of staff in line with departmental and organisational objectives.
