Summary
General Provide trial coordination support across all uro-oncology studies, including RM sponsored studies as required. Provide line management support to the team of administrative staff. Help obtain quality data outputs from the uro-oncology research unit. Maintain oversight that data and queries are managed in accordance to the study contract. Identify training and development needs of staff in line with departmental and Trust Objectives and ensure all new staff receive core and departmental induction. Ensure performance issues are dealt with in an appropriate and timely manner and follow the Trust's Disciplinary or Poor Performance Procedures where formal action is necessary. Provide expertise and guidance to those in the research unit in all areas of research and facilitate the unit research strategy. To oversee the collection and entry of data into relevant case report forms, and the correct updating of the data validation tool to record patient visits and raise correct invoices in a timely manner. To manage, collate, maintain and monitor existing research, publications and audit activities and outputs of the research unit. Seek out and support research opportunities in a bid to increase the numbers of new studies undertaken within the unit and in collaboration with other units and external organisations. Provide financial management of the uro-oncology research unit budget, and individual clinical trial budgets. Ensure that all research and development policies and SOPs are adhered to. Work with external groups to ensure that divisional research activity is promoted externally and internally with relevant stakeholders. Ensure performance against internal and external benchmarks are met To support the planning of the unit research strategies with the Assistant & Associate Directors of Research. To identify gaps in procedure, policy, information and staff knowledge relevant to research within the division/area of responsibility and devise appropriate systems to fill them and improve performance. To remain informed at all times of changes to policy and procedure within the Trust. To develop policies, systems and processes which allow for accurate recording of all research and clinical trial activity; and academic publications thereof; within the division/area of responsibility. To attend appropriate Trust research meetings as agreed with the Clinical Research Operations Manager. To support the Clinical Research Executive to ensure an environment that is responsive to the changing needs and strategy of the R&D Department, BRC and Trust, enhancing institutional reputation. To ensure facilities and other resources are available to meet service needs, including analysing and managing space requirements. Building alliances and working partnerships.
