Summary
Band 6 Clinical Research Nurse (12-Month Maternity Cover)
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 Clinical Research Nurse to join Clinical Trials Unit Urology Chelsea (CTUUC) on a 12-month maternity cover contract.
Our team specialises in prostate, bladder, and urothelial cancers and operates within a highly regarded, fast-paced multidisciplinary environment. Recognised as leaders in the management of urological cancers, we are committed to delivering outstanding patient care alongside pioneering clinical research.
The successful candidate will manage their own caseload of patients enrolled in clinical trials, working closely with both research and clinical colleagues to ensure the highest standards of care. Previous oncology experience is essential, while experience in clinical research is desirable. Applicants should be educated to degree level or possess an equivalent qualification.
You will be responsible for delivering research care in accordance with clinical trial protocols, regulatory requirements, and Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual who can work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. Excellent communication, organisational, administrative, and IT skills are essential, together with a positive attitude and a willingness to embrace new challenges and initiatives.
CTUUC manages a broad and growing research portfolio, encompassing commercial and non-commercial clinical trials, investigator-led studies, translational research incorporating genetic components, and observational studies. This diverse programme offers a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge research while developing specialist expertise in uro-oncology. Maintaining high-quality data collection, proactive patient screening, and exceptional patient care are central to the success of our research programme.
The post also provides continuity of care and ongoing support for patients who often require long-term follow-up and close clinical monitoring throughout their treatment journey.

• To coordinate arrangements required for patients undergoing specialist investigations as part of the research protocol.
• To assess the patient prior to trial treatment, monitor the patient receiving trial treatment and follow the patient up on completion of trial treatment as required by protocol.
• To collect and accurately record data in accordance with requirements of the trial protocol.
• To participate in the design and preparation of research protocols, patient information sheets and other documentation associated with clinical trials, ensuring that these are reviewed and updated as required.
• To safeguard the integrity of the trial by ensuring compliance with ICH GCP guidelines.
