I am currently working with a number of Primary and Secondary schools across Sandwell that have specialist Additionally Resourced Provisions (ARPs) supporting pupils with a range of needs including:

  • Autism (ASC)
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • ADHD
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health Needs (SEMH)
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)

These schools are seeking dedicated, patient and resilient Teaching Assistants to support pupils on both a 1:1 and small group basis, helping them access learning, develop independence and achieve their potential.

The Role

You may be required to:

  • Support pupils within ARP classrooms and mainstream lessons
  • Deliver tailored interventions and adapted learning activities
  • Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
  • Support communication and social development
  • Work closely with teachers, SENDCos and external professionals
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils and families

Ideal Candidates Will Have:

  • Previous experience working with children or young people with SEND
  • Ideally, experience supporting pupils with additional needs within a school, ARP, specialist provision, care or support setting
  • Experience within schools, specialist settings, care, support work or youth work
  • A patient, nurturing and flexible approach

  • Access to free CPD and training

Over the last 20 years, I have built strong relationships with special schools, ARPs and specialist provisions across Sandwell and the wider Black Country. As a result, I can offer candidates access to a variety of rewarding opportunities within SEND education, whether they are looking to gain further SEN experience or secure a longer-term role.To find out more, apply today or contact Claire Cochrane at Hays Education for a confidential discussion about the opportunities available.
