Summary

A rare and exciting opportunity has arisen for a full-time UKDTN Research Nurse,  Band 6, to join Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust. We are  looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual who is passionate about  dementia research.  The post holder will join a wider research team of Principal Investigators; research nurses, local and national UK Dementia Trials Network and  Alzheimer’s Society funded staff to develop and coordinate early phased dementia  clinical trials across Lancashire & South Cumbria from our NIHR Lancashire Clinical  Research Facility.

Lancashire and South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust (LCFT) delivers high quality clinical trials in partnership with the NIHR Regional Research Network and Lancashire Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. The Trust continues to develop and expand its capacity and capability in undertaking clinical research within  its NIHR Lancashire Clinical Research Facility. As a research nurse you will enjoy  working in a busy environment and support research activity across the Trust, ensuring all studies are undertaken to the highest standards within timelines and meeting recruitment targets.

The post holder will be expected to participate fully in their personal development and annual review process to achieve the objectives for this post.  This will include engagement in UKDTN educational and development opportunities.  The post holder will have a key role in supporting the delivery of early phase dementia clinical research including physical health monitoring and clinical rating scale administrations.

The post holder must be prepared to work across the Lancashire & South Cumbria geographical footprint and there will be an element of UK-wide travel for UKDTN  network meetings as required.

The post is full-time for 36 months and based within the Research and Development Department at Lantern Centre, Preston.  If you feel that you have the necessary skills, drive and experience for this post, we look forward to hearing from you.
