In this dynamic role, you will be the face and voice of our school each morning, while delivering key administrative, secretarial, and communications support across our team.Key ResponsibilitiesFront of House & Reception: Serve as the first point of contact for all visitors and parents (in person and on the phone); maintain visitor sign-in logs, issue identification badges, and ensure clear, prompt message delivery to staff.School Communications & Social Media: Assist with paperless communications, co-produce the school newsletter alongside the Headteacher, and help manage the school website and Facebook page.Attendance & Pupil Records: Monitor daily registers, contact families regarding pupil absences or lateness in accordance with school policy, maintain annual/termly attendance registers, and log staff absences.Finance & MIS Administration: Manage Arbor for school meals, trips, pre-school, and club fees; send reminder notices for arrears; maintain the EYE portal for nursery pupils and onboard new nursery starters.General Administrative Support: Provide secretarial support (word processing, correspondence, diary management, filing) to the Headteacher and Office Manager; support fundraising activities and prepare meeting hospitality.What We Are Looking ForEssential CriteriaQualifications: Basic literacy and numeracy (GCSE Grade C/4 or above in English and Maths, or equivalent).Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a warm, professional, and welcoming telephone and face-to-face manner.IT & Technical Proficiency: Strong proficiency in standard office software (Word, Excel, Email, Calendar management) and strong administrative/filing skills.Confidentiality & Compliance: Solid understanding of data protection principles (GDPR) and strict confidentiality.Personal Qualities: A calm, enthusiastic approach to a fast-paced environment; strong teamwork skills; reliability, adaptability, and willingness to work extra hours when needed.Desirable CriteriaPrevious administrative or receptionist experience within an educational setting.Familiarity with school Management Information Systems (e.g., Arbor).There are many advantages to working for us.
