Summary

Ealing Paediatric OT are looking for motivated, flexible and innovative therapists to work with children and young people in Ealing. We are a friendly, dynamic and diverse team who are passionate about supporting children, young people and families in Ealing. We work with a diverse population group across health, education and social care. At the moment we are based at Armstrong Way. We are part of a high level integrated and collaborated partnership between health, education and social care services.
The service is open to all children and young people aged 0-18 with a range of needs. We work along with our therapy colleagues and other agency partners to deliver a service which supports and promotes the health and development of children and young people who are experiencing barriers to participation everyday occupations. These children and young may experience barriers due to physical disability, social communication challenges or other specific developmental differences.Pathways within the service ensure that Multidisciplinary working is integral in the role and provides a whole systems approach for these families, supporting them to tell their story just once
Within your clinical role you will demonstrate confidence and competence in delivering assessment and therapy in mainstream school, special schools and clinic settings and the ability to provide comprehensive written clinical reasoning in all documentation.
To demonstrate working autonomously with an understanding of safe lone working is essential as you will be working across various settings, from schools, homes, nurseries and clinics, often on your own.
You will have a strong enthusiasm for working with children and young people and comprehensive knowledge of statutory assessment for Education Health and Care Plans (EHCP) and SEND guidance and how this applies to clinical work.
You will be able to develop your leadership skills with the responsibility of day-to-day operational management of junior staff and monitoring the quality of care given. The post holder will be expected to pro-actively contribute to areas of service development.
CNWL OT have a long-established professional structure, and this includes an AHP director, Trust wide Professional Head of OT, borough and specialist Head OTs. This huge benefit ensures representation of our profession at all levels - both strategically and operationally.

The team has been successful in getting funding from different agencies and has a team of more than 20 staff. We have a strong professional structure with Clinical Leads (Band 8a) and Advanced Therapists (Band 7), each leading on different aspects of service delivery. There are also Band 6 & 5 Therapists and Band 3 Technicians. We have regular in-house and external CPD opportunities and a strong supervision structure.
We recognise that Band 6’s are the backbone teams, supporting with leadership and managerial tasks within clinical teams and we will therefore support their development both clinically and managerially.

This is a fixed-term appointment for the period of 24 month post. Completion of the contract does not, by itself, guarantee renewal or further or permanent employment.
This post will involve working in a mixture of clinics, mainstream and specials schools. Our service is keen to focus on evidence-based family-centred care principles and applying best practice guidelines to enable occupational participation. We are open to new ideas and constantly reviewing and modifying the way we work.
In this role as a member of the Children’s Integrated Therapies Service, you will be expected to be a competent OT who is able to autonomously deliver evidence-based therapy to children and young people through full age ranges and across a variety of needs.
You will be part of a community team where your proven ability to work collaboratively with children, young people and their families will support their development and facilitate them in achieving their aspirations. This will include being part of an immediate Occupational Therapy team and working with a broad multidisciplinary team and other partner agencies - forming part of network of support around the child and their family.
You will be expected to work autonomously across the community settings, working jointly with our partner services of Education and Social Care. Throughout your working you are required to always maintain safeguarding of children and young people.
Your leaderships skills will enable you to engage in development and support of the team, through supervision, training and guidance to team and contribute to development of the service.
We are looking for team players who have a range of clinical experiences. Candidates will need to have good communication skills and any experience in working within an inter-disciplinary team and interagency collaboration will be an advantage. Regular supervision and support will be provided by Band 7. Are you the people we are looking for?
