Start Date: ASAP

Contract: Full-time, long-term temporary

Long Term Futures is recruiting an experienced SEN Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated support for a Year 3 pupil with Autism (ASD) at a welcoming primary school in Westminster.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys building a consistent relationship with one pupil and helping them become increasingly confident and independent in the classroom. There are no significant behavioural concerns; the focus is on learning, communication, engagement and ensuring the pupil can access the Year 3 curriculum successfully.

The Role

- Provide targeted 1:1 ASD support within Year 3

- Help the pupil access lessons alongside their classmates

- Break learning into clear, manageable steps

- Use visual resources and structured routines where appropriate

- Support communication, attention and classroom engagement

- Reinforce English and Maths learning

- Encourage independence rather than over-reliance on adult support

- Support transitions and changes to classroom routines

- Work closely with the class teacher and SENCo

- Monitor progress towards individual and EHCP targets

What We're Looking For

- Previous SEN Teaching Assistant experience is strongly preferred

- Experience supporting children with Autism (ASD)

- Primary or KS2 experience would be advantageous

- Good literacy and numeracy skills

- Patient, consistent and able to build positive relationships

- Understanding of visual strategies and autism-friendly approaches

- Proactive and confident supporting learning within a mainstream classroom

Why Long Term Futures?

We specialise in long-term and permanent education placements, giving you the stability to build meaningful relationships and see the progress your support creates. You'll receive weekly pay, relevant SEN CPD and dedicated consultant support.
