Long Term Futures are recruiting a Learning Support Assistant to join a welcoming girls' secondary school in Wandsworth, supporting students across KS3 and KS4.
The school is looking for a proactive and engaging Learning Support Assistant who can provide additional academic and pastoral support to students, including those with SEN and additional learning needs.
This is a long-term position offering excellent experience for an established LSA/Teaching Assistant or a graduate considering a future career in teaching, SEN or education.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support students across KS3 and KS4
- Provide 1:1 and small-group learning support
- Support students with SEN and additional learning needs
- Work alongside teachers within mainstream lessons
- Deliver targeted literacy and numeracy interventions
- Adapt learning materials to meet individual needs
- Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement
- Support behaviour and emotional wellbeing where required
- Work closely with the SENCO, teachers and pastoral team
Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- Previous experience as a Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant or SEN TA is desirable
- Experience working with secondary-aged students
- Understanding of SEN/SEND and barriers to learning
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills
- Confidence supporting students across different subjects
- A patient, professional and proactive approach
- Graduates considering teacher training are encouraged to apply
