Property Maintenance Specialist
Manchester/North West
Additional travel across the North East, Lincolnshire and Staffordshire
A Property Maintenance Specialist is required to join a leading Property Management company based in Salford.
The Property Maintenance Specialist will travel to properties throughout the North West to carry out repairs and carry out general maintenance. This is a varied role with travel; van, tools, and travel costs are provided. Typical repairs and maintenance can include: fixtures and fittings, basic carpentry and plumbing, identifying and escalating any property issues, painting and decorating, inspections, and other general repairs.
The role will also involve travel to properties across the North East, including Stockton-on-Tees and Darlington; Lincolnshire, including Grimsby and Cleethorpes; and Staffordshire, including Stoke-on-Trent.
We are looking for someone with basic practical skills across a range of maintenance tasks, rather than specialist qualifications in every trade.
Additional repairs and maintenance across our HMO properties can include:
• Minor fire door adjustments and repairs, including adjusting hinges and suitable door closers.
• Basic plumbing repairs, including identifying and repairing minor leaks, replacing taps and toilet components, clearing straightforward blockages and renewing sealant. Experience replacing macerators would be advantageous.
• General joinery, including minor repairs to doors, frames, skirting boards, cupboards and kitchen units.
• Fitting and replacing locks, key safes and other fixtures and fittings.
• Minor plaster repairs, making good walls and ceilings, painting and decorating.
• Identifying damp and mould issues, carrying out basic surface treatment where appropriate and escalating underlying causes requiring specialist attention.
• Assembling and repairing furniture, replacing damaged fittings and helping prepare empty rooms for new tenants.
• Fitting fire safety signage and other straightforward safety fittings as instructed.
Ideally, we are looking for someone with 5+ years of experience in a similar role. You should be a trusted professional who is reliable and has good practical knowledge about general property repairs.
The role is full-time, working 8:30am – 5pm/5:30pm (some flexibility may be required)
