Summary
Grading / Sorting Operatives
• Location: Skelmersdale, L39, Lancashire
• Pay Rate: £13.00 per hour
• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
• Duration: Approximately 1 month to 5 weeks
• PPE: Steel toe cap boots required
The role:
We are currently recruiting for Grading / Sorting Operatives to join an established farming business based near Bickerstaffe in Skelmersdale on a temporary basis for approximately 1 month to 5 weeks.
Working within a covered environment, you will assist with the picking, sorting and grading of fresh produce, removing debris and unsuitable produce to help maintain the quality of the product moving through the grading process.
Key responsibilities:
• Picking and sorting fresh produce as part of the grading process.
• Removing debris, damaged produce and unwanted materials.
• Checking produce and removing any unsuitable items.
• Working alongside the grading machinery and production team.
• Maintaining a clean and tidy working area.
• Following site health and safety procedures.
• Carrying out other general duties within the grading operation as required.
Working environment & safety:
The role is based within a covered working environment on a working farm. You will work around grading machinery and moving rollers.
The rollers are fitted with protective cages, with emergency-stop pull cords available along the machinery. Machinery breakdowns are to be reported to management upon any machinery issues.
