Summary

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Clinical/Counselling Psychologist to join the Community CYPMHS Service in Enfield Neurodevelopmental Team and work as part of a multi-disciplinary team in a great location (the post is based at Bay Tree House in Enfield). This is a full-time post, but we are also open to applications for flexible working.

Enfield CAMHS Neurodevelopmental team is a very supportive, friendly and welcoming multi-disciplinary team with a well-established clinical/counselling psychology discipline, family therapy discipline and child psychotherapy discipline. We are looking for a clinician with a broad range of experience, including experience of working with children and families who present with a high level of complexity, as the work will assess and treat a diverse range of difficulties. 

The post holder will be part of the Neurodevelopmental team with Enfield CAMHS, providing a specialist service to children and young people with neurodevelopmental needs (e.g. ASD, ADHD). Offering specialist assessments, contributing to the diagnostic process and formulating areas of strength and needs to inform on evidence-based interventions. In addition to providing clinical supervision to clinicians and trainees, the post holder will also provide support and consultation to multidisciplinary colleagues, professionals, and non-professional staff. There are opportunities to deliver therapeutic interventions, utilise research skills for audit and service development.

In order to meet the needs of the Trust you may be required from time to time to work at different locations to your normal place of work. This may mean that you are required to work at any location that fall under Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey or Islington. The Trust reserves the right to require staff to work at such other places or locations as it considers reasonable and necessary on a temporary or permanent basis.

• To provide neurodevelopmental assessment, differential diagnostic assessment, support and intervention to individuals, families or groups in Enfield CAMHS NDS Pathway.

• To be aware of the effectiveness of different targeted approaches to the treatment and management of social communication impairments for children and young people with neurodevelopmental disorders.

• To produce and implement plans for strategies and therapies targeting neurodevelopmental disorders, and using evidenced based interventions, across the full range of care settings.

• To offer advice and consultation on clients’ psychological care to colleagues, professional and non-professional staff in mental health services and appropriate agencies, and/or carers.

• Evaluate and make decisions about treatment options, based on both theoretical and therapeutic models.

• To develop collaborative working relationships with school and work alongside multi-agency services to provide appropriate support for children and young people with neurodevelopmental disorders in mainstream provisions.

• To utilise research skills and core professional training for audit, service development and research within the area served by the service.

• To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of the team’s policies and procedures.
