Summary

You will receive a structured induction and will complete a departmental and trust preceptorship programme. You will receive regular supervision supporting both your clinical and professional development. You will also be able to utilise peer support from the Band 5 support group. To participate in the Band 5 Occupational Therapy rotational scheme which involves working across the Trust in a range of clinical settings for 6 month periods. Band 5 rotational posts are designed to consolidate and build on graduate skills and academic knowledge, giving the newly qualified occupational therapist a broad practical experience of a range of patients and conditions and areas of work. The variety of specialities included on the Band 5 rotation include Medicine (Including Older Peoples Medicine) Surgery (Vascular, Plastics and General Surgery), Orthopaedics (Trauma and Elective), Major Trauma Rehabilitation, Loan Equipment, Paediatrics, Neurosciences and Stroke. Applicants will be encouraged to participate in internal and external learning CPD opportunities. Applicants need to be state registered and should have an excellent knowledge of occupational therapy core skills, well developed communication skills and be able to work as part of a team. Experience of working with a wide range of physical conditions in an acute physical, fast paced environment is desirable.
