Summary

SEN TA – KS2 | ASD & Behaviour

Location: Waltham Forest

Start Date: Immediate

Contract: Long Term

Hours: 08:30–15:15

Pay: Competitive, dependent on experience

We are looking for a caring, patient and experienced

SEN TA to join a welcoming primary school in

Waltham Forest, providing dedicated 1:1 support to a

KS2 pupil with ASD and behavioural needs.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate

SEN TA who has experience supporting children with autism and challenging behaviour and understands the importance of a calm, consistent and positive approach.

The successful

SEN TA will work closely with the pupil throughout the school day, supporting their learning, emotional regulation and behaviour. You will play an important role in helping the pupil engage positively with school and develop their confidence and independence.

The Role

As a

SEN TA, you will:

•

Provide dedicated 1:1 support to a KS2 pupil with ASD.

•

Support the pupil with behavioural and emotional regulation.

•

Help the pupil access learning and classroom activities.

•

Build a strong and trusting relationship with the pupil.

•

Use a calm, consistent and nurturing approach.

•

Support positive behaviour and engagement.

•

Help the pupil develop their confidence, independence and social skills.

•

Work closely with the class teacher and wider SEN team.

•

Follow individual support strategies and behaviour plans.

•

Help maintain a safe and positive learning environment.

About You

The school is looking for a

SEN TA who:

•

Has previous experience supporting children with ASD or SEN.

•

Has experience managing or supporting challenging behaviour.

•

Is patient, resilient and consistent in their approach.

•

Can remain calm and confident when faced with challenging situations.

•

Understands the importance of boundaries, routine and positive reinforcement.

•

Can build strong and positive relationships with pupils.

•

Is confident providing dedicated 1:1 support.

•

Works well as part of a wider school team.

•

Is reliable and available for an immediate start.
