We’re looking for a reliable, proactive Blend Shed Operative to join our busy animal feed manufacturing team. This is a hands-on production role at the heart of our operation, ensuring high-quality feed is blended, processed, and prepared safely and efficiently.

Day to Day

- Manufacture sales and transfer orders in line with production schedules and customer requirements.

- Ensure all finished products are produced to the highest quality standards and delivered on time and in full (OTIF).

- Drive improvements in Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) to ensure production targets are consistently met or exceeded.

- Carry out site hygiene activities to the highest standards, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with all relevant policies and regulations.

- Monitor finished goods inventory levels to ensure customer and site demands can be met efficiently.

- Maintain compliance with UFAS, FEMAS and all associated legislative and regulatory requirements.

- Conduct routine stock checks, ensuring accurate system updates and timely reporting.

- Monitor, maintain and contribute to achieving agreed operational KPIs.

- Operate JCB equipment for loading finished goods, feeding raw materials through hoppers and unloading deliveries.

- Unload and receive raw material deliveries in line with site procedures.

- Complete daily vehicle and equipment defect inspections, reporting issues promptly.

- Adhere to daily and weekly cleaning schedules to maintain a safe and efficient working environment.

- Support site shunting operations, ensuring production teams have the materials and resources required for continuous operation.

- Complete all mandatory training within agreed timeframes.

Loading and Unloading Responsibilities

- Operate Forklift Trucks (FLT) and other material handling equipment in accordance with training and company procedures to support loading and unloading of bulk deliveries.

- Inspect incoming deliveries and promptly report any discrepancies, shortages or quality concerns to the Raw Materials Coordinator.

- Load bulk vehicles using JCB equipment and loading canopy facilities.

- Support drivers and suppliers during delivery and collection activities.

Raw Material Shunting Responsibilities

- Transport products and materials safely between site locations using the site shunt vehicle as required.

- Support finished goods loading operations during peak periods or when operationally required.

What will you bring?

- Previous experience operating FLT, JCB or similar material handling equipment is desirable but training and refreshers can be provided.

- Good attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records.

- Comfortable on your feet – this can be a physically demanding role.

- Ability to work effectively as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

- Basic understanding of stock control processes and production KPIs.

- Knowledge of UFAS/FEMAS requirements would be advantageous but not essential.
