The team
The Conversion Team is part of the wider Marketing Department based in York, which in turn is part of the Directorate of Marketing, Student Recruitment and Admissions. The team produces conversion campaigns including mainly email marketing with some direct marketing activity. The work of the team aims to convert prospective undergraduate and postgraduate students into enrolled students.
The successful candidate will play a key role in managing the Conversion Team in collaboration with the Conversion and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) Manager, as well as work on specific conversion and content activity themselves.
They will also work with the Marketing Team and Digital Team in the Marketing Department, other teams in the Directorate and stakeholders across the University to ensure we take a joined-up approach to recruiting students.
The role
The successful candidate will manage the creation of content for high quality targeted communications to prospective students when they are enquirers, applicants and offer holders, as well as their key influencers such as parents and carers.
A key part of this will be leading on the student generated content project to ensure that engaging, informative and effective student generated content is developed in various formats including blogs and vlogs. They will co-ordinate a group of students to bring to life what the University offers.
Experience of working in a higher education setting is desirable, but not essential.
Required skills and experience
Experience of creating engaging content across a wide range of channels for different audiences including student (or other user) generated content
Marketing knowledge and experience, particularly in campaign planning, delivery and implementation
Ability to write high quality, engaging marketing copy
Experience of managing and supporting a team
Experience of managing various stakeholders and projects
