Summary

Job Introduction

Are you the person who spots what others miss?

We're looking for curious, analytical and organised individuals who enjoy making sense of complex information, challenging assumptions and turning evidence into meaningful change.

As an Assurance & Improvement Officer, you'll work with data, evidence and insight to support better decision-making, strengthen quality and compliance, and help improve outcomes for people across Lincolnshire.

Join our newly established Strategic Commissioning Service and play a key role in shaping how we understand performance, quality, risk and organisational effectiveness across Adult Care and Community Wellbeing.

If you enjoy turning information into action and want to be part of a team that's building something new, we'd love to hear from you. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in assurance, governance, business improvement and strategic commissioning within a newly established service.

What you'll be doing

No two days will be the same. One day you may be analysing themes emerging from service reviews, the next supporting evidence gathering for a Care Quality Commission inspection, and the next helping to develop a new assurance process.

You'll help us understand how well our services, programmes and processes are working by:

Bringing together and analysing information from multiple sources to create a clear picture of service performance, identifying strengths, risks and opportunities for improvement.

Reviewing evidence, data and documentation to identify themes and support evidence-based decision-making.

Building and maintaining assurance evidence that demonstrates impact, compliance and continuous improvement.

Producing reports, dashboards, briefings and assurance information for managers and senior leaders.

Supporting audit, review, inspection and quality assurance activity, including responses to regulatory and governance requirements.

Helping to develop and improve assurance approaches, business processes and systems that support effective service delivery.

Working collaboratively across Adult Care, Commissioning and Corporate Services to identify opportunities for improvement, strengthen quality and compliance, and deliver better outcomes for the people of Lincolnshire.

Your work will help ensure that services are safe, effective, well-governed and continually improving.

Why join us?

Shape the future and make a real difference: You will contribute to the delivery of comprehensive, robust, consistent and evidence-based commissioning, effective partnership working and service transformation to improve outcomes and optimise Council resources. In doing so your work will directly contribute to improving lives across Lincolnshire.

Work in a dynamic supportive environment: In joining the Strategic Commissioning Service you can be guaranteed a warm welcome and will be surrounded by a friendly, supportive caring and compassionate team, dedicated to ensuring success.

Know you are at the heart of our organisation: We believe our people are at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we offer a rewarding package designed to support career growth, your work–life balance, health, wellbeing and financial security. Find out more about our offer to you here

If you would like an open and informal discussion about the role, we’d be delighted to hear from you. Please contact Gareth Maddison via email Gareth.Maddison@lincolnshire.gov.uk

Closing date: 28/10/26.

Due to recent changes in immigration law in the UK we are unable to offer skilled worker visa sponsorship for this role as it does not meet the requirements.

At Lincolnshire County Council, we believe our people are at the heart of everything we do. That’s why we offer a rewarding package designed to support your work–life balance, health and wellbeing, financial security, and career growth. Find out more about our offer to you in the attached brochure.

PLEASE NOTE: It is imperative that your personal statement clearly states why you have applied, how you meet the essential and desirable criteria for the role as set out in the Job Description (attached on LCC jobs Site) and what you feel you can bring to this role, the team and the wider County Council.
