The Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Legal Process Services Lead to support the strategic development and delivery of Legal Process Services within a large, complex government legal environment. This senior interim role will work closely with the Head of Legal Delivery and wider leadership teams to build, mature and scale core capabilities including legal project management (LPM), legal process improvement (LPI) and legal delivery management.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping an emerging function, driving efficiency, modernising delivery models, and embedding continuous improvement across legal operations. This is a high-impact leadership position requiring strong strategic capability, excellent stakeholder engagement skills, and confidence operating in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the development, growth and maturity of Legal Process Services (LPM, LPI and legal delivery management) to support organisational efficiency targets.
Define and implement the vision, strategy and operating model for Legal Process Services, ensuring alignment with wider business management and operational priorities.
Drive the transition from pilot initiatives to a scalable, sustainable service offering across advisory and specialist legal directorates.
Hold accountability for delivering a portfolio of large-scale legal delivery and improvement projects, ensuring high-quality outcomes.
Build strong relationships with senior internal and external stakeholders, acting as a credible ambassador for legal delivery and articulating its value clearly.
Partner with digital, data, AI and other legal operations functions to deliver integrated solutions that enhance legal service delivery.
Lead workforce and capability planning, including team development, skills assessment and scaling resource in line with demand.
Establish and embed continuous improvement frameworks, identifying systemic inefficiencies and cross-cutting opportunities across the organisation.
You Will Need (Essential Requirements)
Strong understanding of legal project management, legal process improvement and legal delivery methodologies.
Demonstrable experience delivering change within a legal organisation or legal operations function (minimum 6+ years).
Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leaders and communicate complex information clearly.
Proven ability to lead teams, build capability and drive performance in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgement and a proactive approach to identifying and implementing improvements.
Desirable Experience
Experience working in a regulated environment such as financial services.
Law degree or equivalent professional background.
Experience partnering with digital, data or technology teams to deliver operational improvements.
Background in continuous improvement methodologies.
Experience acting as a senior representative or ambassador for operational change.
