Summary
Starting Salary: £30,000 per year
Location: Central Scotland, with travel throughout Scotland and the wider UK as required
Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00-17:00
Employment: Full-time, permanent
Probation: 3 months
BB Water Solutions is looking for a Legionella Service Technician to join our growing water hygiene team.
Previous water hygiene experience would be preferred, but we are also interested in people from facilities management, building services, mechanical maintenance or other PPM-based roles who are comfortable working independently across customer sites.
For the right person, full water hygiene training and ongoing development will be provided.
The Role
The position will involve carrying out planned water hygiene and Legionella control activities across commercial sites, including:
Hot and cold water temperature monitoring
Sentinel outlet monitoring
Flushing of infrequently used outlets
Showerhead cleaning and descaling
Water sampling
Cold water storage tank inspections
Tank cleaning and disinfection
TMV inspections and servicing
Basic plumbing and water hygiene remedial works
Calorifier and water heater checks
Completion of accurate service records and site documentation
Reporting defects and remedial requirements
Communicating professionally with customers and site representatives
What We Are Looking For
Essential:
Full UK driving licence
Good practical ability
Comfortable working independently
Able to follow procedures and complete accurate records
Confident dealing with customers
Reliable and organised
Willingness to travel as required
Previous experience working within facilities, maintenance, PPM, building services or a similar field
Desirable:
Previous water hygiene or Legionella experience
Plumbing experience
Experience with TMVs
Water sampling experience
Tank cleaning and disinfection experience
Knowledge of ACOP L8 and HSG274
Experience working across commercial or FM contracts
