Summary

City & Hackney CAMHS are excited to be recruitingto1 full-timepost asCAMHSpractitioner withinthe Mental Health in Schools Support Team(MHST).

This is a training role from within both the Child and Young Persons Improving Access to Psychological Therapies Programme (CYP-IAPT) and the Mental Health Support Team (MHST). The post holder will work withinMHSTproviding assessments and interventions whilst undertaking a programme of training for this role. This intensive training post will equip the post holder to provide interventions based on CYP-IAPT care principlesand alsoanevidence basedintervention consistent with their training course. The training will be in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). The post holder will work in schoolsas part of theMHSTand alsoattend their training course1-2days per week.

The Mental Health Support Teams are part of an exciting project funded by NHS England, Health EducationEnglandand partners, with the aim of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in the community. There is a specific focus on developing more access to helpingand improving the general culture of emotional support within all primary and secondary schools including special educational provisions and PRU’s. Working alongside community partners,the Mental Health Support Teams will be fully integrated with community CAMHS and educational settings.

We are looking foraconfident CAMHS professionalwhoiskeen to develop their skills in providingevidence basedinterventionstochildren and young people both within schools and inCAMHSclinic setting. You will havea demonstrabletrack recordof providingcollaborativeandsupportiveinterventionswith children, young people, families, and parents/carers. You will be either an Education Mental Health Practitioner,Nurse, SocialworkerorOTwith the requisite professional registration.The community served is multi-ethnic and culturallydiverseand we welcome applicants who are skilled at working with the richness and complexity of this multicultural context.
