Audio type, type and proofread clinical correspondence to a high standard. Coordinate MDT meetings, including preparation of paperwork and minute taking. Respond to enquiries from patients, healthcare professionals and external organisations. Maintain accurate, confidential patient records in line with Trust policies. Use Trust IT systems, including PAS/PPM and Microsoft Office applications. Prioritise workloads effectively to meet departmental deadlines and service targets. Liaise with multidisciplinary teams to support the delivery of high-quality patient care. Provide cross-cover for colleagues during periods of absence. Undertake additional administrative duties as required to support the needs of the service. Contribute to a positive team environment, working collaboratively with colleagues to support service delivery and continuous improvement What you will bring to the role The Haematology Department is based within the Bexley Wing at St James’s University Hospital, one of the UK's leading centres for the treatment and management of malignant and non-malignant blood disorders. The service provides specialist care across a wide range of conditions, including haematological cancers, haemostasis and thrombosis, haemophilia, and venous thromboembolism (VTE), serving patients from Leeds and the wider Yorkshire region. We are committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centred care and supporting patients throughout their healthcare journey. The service forms part of the Oncology Clinical Service Unit (CSU), which includes Haematology, Medical and Clinical Oncology, Specialist Palliative Medicine, Breast and Endocrine Surgery, Thoracic Surgery and Gynaecological Oncology.
