Summary

We are recruiting a Vehicle Suspension and Steering Mechanic on behalf of our client, a reputable accident repair centre located in York. This is an excellent Vehicle Suspension and Steering Mechanic opportunity for a skilled professional to join a dynamic team within a well-established organisation that prioritises quality and customer satisfaction. The Vehicle Suspension and Steering Mechanic will be instrumental in maintaining high standards of vehicle repair and safety.

Duties:

- Diagnose suspension and steering issues using diagnostic equipment and test drives

- Repair or replace worn suspension components such as shock absorbers, struts, and control arms

- Perform wheel alignment to manufacturer specifications for optimal vehicle handling

- Inspect and service steering systems, including power steering pumps, racks, and linkages

- Conduct routine maintenance, including lubrication and adjustments on suspension and steering parts

- Test drive vehicles post-repair to ensure all issues have been resolved

- Maintain tools and equipment to ensure safety and compliance with standards

- Follow all health and safety protocols, including the use of PPE

Requirements:

- Proven experience as a mechanic within an automotive repair environment

- In-depth knowledge of suspension and steering systems

- Strong understanding of ADAS systems

- Knowledge of hybrid and electric vehicle repair is desirable

- High attention to detail and meticulous working approach

- Ability to complete tasks efficiently within set timeframes and to a high standard

- Capable of working effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
