Hays Education are working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in the Preston area to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant to provide 1:1 support for a male pupil in Reception.

This is a rewarding opportunity for a compassionate and patient individual who is passionate about supporting young children to achieve their full potential both academically and socially. The successful candidate will play a key role in helping the pupil engage positively with learning and develop confidence within the classroom environment.

Your new role

As a 1:1 Teaching Assistant, you will:

Provide dedicated support to a pupil within a Reception class throughout the school day.

Help implement strategies to support learning, engagement, and emotional wellbeing.

Work closely with the class teacher and SENCO to deliver tailored support.

Encourage positive behaviour and support social interaction with peers.

Assist with classroom activities whilst ensuring the pupil remains fully included in learning opportunities.

Monitor and record progress, providing feedback to teaching staff where required.

What you'll need to succeed

To be successful in this role, you will have:

Previous experience working with children in an EYFS, primary school, nursery, or similar setting.

A patient, nurturing, and resilient approach.

Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Experience supporting children with additional needs is desirable but not essential.

A genuine passion for helping young learners succeed.
