Summary
Premises Manager, permanent full time post Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 52 weeks plus 27 days annual leave
Salary: NJC scale point F15-24 (£35,109 - £40,020 per annum)
Start Date: 1st January 2027 or sooner, depending on availability. We're looking for a skilled, reliable and proactive Premises Manager to join our team at Christ Church CofE Primary School. This is a key role in ensuring our school site is safe, secure, clean, welcoming and well-maintained for our pupils, staff and the wider school community. You'll be responsible for the day-to-day management of our premises, including security, cleaning oversight, DIY maintenance, health and safety compliance, and contractor management. You'll work closely with the School Business Manager, Office team and wider Leadership Team to ensure our site operates smoothly and efficiently.Our vision is “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” Philippians 4:13 and our Christian ethos permeates all that we do and so you should be committed to the aims and ethos of a Church School and promote outstanding progress of all learners. • The chance to play a vital role in a positive and inclusive school community Main Duties and Responsibilities:• Ensure the school site and premises are secure, safe, clean, maintained and conducive to learning at all times.
• Monitor the condition of all site buildings, outdoor areas, facilities, furniture and equipment taking appropriate action to address any issues.
• Carry out routine maintenance, repairs and DIY tasks to a good standard, arranging specialist contractor support where required.
• Manage heating, lighting, water and other building services.
• General portage duties - move furniture and equipment and receive and manage deliveries.
• Support the set-up and smooth running of school events, lettings and activities.
• Develop a 3 year improvement plan to support the school development plan.
• Responsible for premises risk management and business continuity
• Provide first aid as required for pupils during the school day (training will be provided) The ideal candidate will:• Have excellent DIY/handyperson skills
• Be practical, resourceful and solutions-focused
• Have ability to plan, organise and prioritise work on a daily basis
• Be able to work independently with a problem-solving mindset
• Have knowledge of health and safety regulations
• Have good general fitness and mobility in order to carry out manual handling and lifting
• Be willing to work flexibly and out of school hours as needed
• Have a calm and professional manner
