We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Health & Social Care Lecturer to join our successful curriculum team. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator or industry professional to help shape the future of learners studying Health & Social Care programmes, particularly at Levels 1 and 2.

You will deliver engaging and inclusive teaching that supports students to achieve their full potential, develop industry-relevant skills, and progress into employment, apprenticeships, or further study. Working as part of a dedicated team, you will contribute to curriculum development, course leadership, student support, quality assurance, and employer engagement activities.

Duties

As a Health & Social Care Lecturer, you will:

  • Deliver inspirational teaching across Health & Social Care programmes, with a focus on Levels 1 and 2.
  • Plan, prepare, assess and monitor student learning to ensure high levels of achievement and progression.
  • Provide tutorial and pastoral support, acting as a Personal Tutor where required.
  • Create a positive, inclusive and student-centred learning environment.
  • Develop and maintain strong links with employers and placement providers.
  • Support students in securing and completing meaningful work placements.
  • Contribute to curriculum planning, course evaluation and quality improvement activities.
  • Lead designated courses, ensuring compliance with awarding body requirements and quality standards.
  • Monitor student attendance, progress and achievement, implementing timely interventions where necessary.
  • Participate in open events, careers fairs, school liaison activities and recruitment events.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues to continuously improve teaching, learning and assessment.

Experience

We would welcome applications from candidates who have:

  • A relevant qualification in Health & Social Care or a related subject.
  • Experience working within the health, care or education sector.
  • Knowledge of current Health & Social Care practices and industry developments.
  • Experience of teaching or training learners, ideally within Further Education.
  • A commitment to delivering high-quality teaching and supporting learner success.
  • Strong organisational, communication and interpersonal skills.
  • The ability to motivate and inspire learners from a range of backgrounds.
