Some referrals may involve challenging or concerning behaviour, family conflict, poor engagement with education, negative peer influences, antisocial behaviour, exploitation risks or difficulties managing emotions and relationships.

The successful mentor will provide a consistent, positive adult role model and will use relationship-based, strengths-focused mentoring to help young people develop confidence, resilience, positive decision-making skills and realistic aspirations.

Mentors will be allocated individual referrals according to their experience and suitability and may support a number of young people over time.
