Summary

Location: Swindon, SN25

Days: Monday & Wednesday (2 days per week initially)

Hours: 9:00am-3:00pm initially, with potential for additional days

Pay: Negotiable depending on experience

Start: ASAP

Driving: Full UK driving licence required

DBS: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service required

Luma Education Recruitment is recruiting for a Part-Time Learning Mentor to provide 1:1 educational, pastoral and practical support to a young person in Swindon.

This is a varied role for someone who can combine learning, mentoring, sport and practical activities to keep a young person engaged and motivated outside of a traditional classroom environment.

You will support with schoolwork and learning, while also using PE, sport, outdoor activities and interests such as football and fishing to build engagement, confidence and positive routines.

Provide dedicated 1:1 learning and mentoring support

Support with schoolwork, educational tasks and learning activities

Help keep the young person engaged and motivated throughout the day

Incorporate PE, sport and physical activity into the support provided

Take part in activities including football, fishing and other outdoor interests

Support positive social interaction, communication and confidence

Build a strong, consistent and positive relationship with the young person

Provide structure and encouragement while keeping learning practical and engaging

We're looking for an active, positive and reliable Learning Mentor who enjoys working 1:1 and can bring energy and creativity to the role.

This could suit someone with experience as a Learning Mentor, Teaching Assistant, SEN Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Sports Coach, PE Assistant, Youth Worker, Tutor or Education Support Worker.

Experience supporting young people with SEN, SEMH, behaviour or additional learning needswould be advantageous.

A full UK driving licence and Enhanced DBS on the Update Service are essential.
