Summary
Part-Time Outreach Mentor / Learning Support Worker – Swindon
Location: Swindon, SN25
Days: Monday & Wednesday
Hours: 9:00am–3:00pm initially, with potential for additional days
Pay: Negotiable depending on experience
Start: ASAP
Driving: Full UK driving licence required
DBS: Enhanced DBS on the Update Service required
Luma Education Recruitment is recruiting for an Outreach Mentor / Learning Support Worker to provide 1:1 educational and pastoral support to a young person in Swindon, outside of a traditional school environment.
This is a varied and rewarding role combining learning support, mentoring, education and practical activities. You will support the young person with schoolwork and engagement while also encouraging positive downtime and taking part in activities such as football, fishing and other outdoor/sporting interests.
The Role
Provide dedicated 1:1 learning and mentoring support
Support with schoolwork, learning and educational activities
Build a positive and trusting relationship with the young person
Encourage engagement, confidence and positive routines
Take part in sports, outdoor activities and practical interests
Provide calm, consistent and reliable support outside of a mainstream school setting
About You
We're looking for someone who is reliable, patient, active and engaging, with the ability to build a strong 1:1 relationship with a young person.
Relevant experience could include Learning Support Assistant, Teaching Assistant, SEN Support, Outreach Worker, Youth Worker, Mentor, Behaviour Mentor, Sports Coach or Education Support Worker.
Experience supporting young people with SEN, SEMH, behaviour or additional learning needs would be advantageous.
