The school is looking for someone patient, nurturing and adaptable who can build strong relationships with pupils while maintaining clear and consistent expectations.

Depending on the needs of the pupils, you may support children with autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, social and emotional needs and other additional learning needs.

- Build positive and professional relationships with pupils, staff and families.

- Support pupils during transitions, breaktimes and other areas of the school day where required.

- Follow the school's safeguarding, behaviour and SEND policies at all times.

The Ideal Candidate

- Has previous experience working with children or young people, ideally within a primary school or SEND setting.

- Has experience supporting children with special educational needs and disabilities.

- Is patient, caring and able to build positive relationships with pupils.

- Understands that behaviour can be a form of communication and can respond calmly and consistently.

- Is confident supporting pupils both academically and emotionally.

- Can adapt their approach to meet individual children's needs.

- Has strong communication and teamwork skills.

- A relevant Teaching Assistant, childcare or education qualification.

- Experience delivering targeted interventions or working from individual support plans.

- Training in areas such as autism awareness, behaviour support, Team Teach, Makaton or PECS.
