Great primary teachers don't simply teach subjects. They help children become curious, confident and willing to try.
We are seeking a Qualified Primary Teacher in Torquay for a full-time opportunity working with primary-aged pupils.
You'll have the chance to create an engaging learning environment where children are encouraged to participate, develop their independence and make progress at a pace that reflects their individual needs.
No two children learn in exactly the same way, so you'll use your professional judgement to make learning accessible while ensuring pupils continue to be challenged.
You'll:
- Deliver creative and engaging lessons across the curriculum.
- Plan learning around clear curriculum objectives.
- Adapt activities for different abilities and learning styles.
- Recognise when pupils require additional intervention or challenge.
- Provide appropriate support for pupils with SEND.
- Assess children's learning and identify appropriate next steps.
- Promote positive behaviour through clear expectations and relationships.
- Encourage confidence, independence and resilience.
- Work collaboratively with Teaching Assistants and colleagues.
- Maintain positive communication with parents and carers.
We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys working with primary-aged children and understands the difference a positive teacher can make.
You should have:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised qualification.
- Experience within a primary classroom.
- A sound understanding of the National Curriculum.
- Effective lesson planning and delivery skills.
- Good classroom and behaviour management.
- An inclusive approach to teaching.
- Patience, enthusiasm and professionalism.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
You could be an experienced teacher looking for a change or an ECT keen to broaden your classroom experience.
An Enhanced DBS, or willingness to obtain one, and satisfactory references will be required.
You'll receive £150-£180 per day, depending on your experience and qualifications.
