With an annual turnover of more than £50 million, Gower College Swansea is a major employer in the region, employing over 1,000 staff.The College also offers an award-winning staff wellbeing provision, reflecting its commitment to investing in staff and ensuring they feel supported.The RoleWe have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Hospitality & Catering Technician to join our team in Tycoch campus.Part time (18.5 hours per week)Term time (40 weeks per annum)Permanent£11,641 per annum (£26,226 FTE)Tycoch Campus, SwanseaKey ResponsibilitiesMaintain a clean, healthy, hygienic work environment in all Hospitality and Catering workplaces to statutory requirements, while satisfying all hygiene and safety legislation. (to include kitchens, restaurant, bar, storerooms).Issue, receive and ensure cleanliness of all equipment ie: refrigerators, deep freezers, store cupboards, including the floor areas where required.Source, order, receive, store and dispense necessary equipment, materials and ingredients required for practical classes and demonstrations, from recognised suppliers and relevant retail outlets.Complete First Responder training and undertake the duties.About YouMinimum Level 2 qualification in Hospitality & Catering, to include vocational knowledge of food preparation; e.g. 706-2 / NVQ / VRQ.L2 / L3 Food hygiene qualification.Level 2 (Grade A-C) or equivalent Maths and English qualificationKnowledge of current Food Safety Standards and Health & Safety legislationBenefits28 days (pro-rata) annual leave, plus bank holidays, and the college is closed for two weeks over the Christmas periodA Local Government Pension Scheme with an average employer contribution of 21% (2025)2 staff well-being daysDiscounted study opportunities on College programmesMore benefits: https://www.gcs.ac.uk/recruitment/staff-benefits-wellbeingSupport with your applicationPlease click here to read our guidance. Further informationThe successful candidate will complete First Responder training and undertake the associated duties. Upon completion of training, an additional £50 per month will be paid.Appointments will normally be made to the bottom of the salary scale with annual increments on 1st August each year (subject to a start date before 1st February).
