Summary

Trainee MIG Welder / Fabricator

Our client is a well-established engineering company based in the Woodbridge area, and due to continued work they are looking to take on a Trainee MIG Welder / Fabricator to join their small and friendly team. This is a great opportunity for someone with some basic MIG welding, fabrication or workshop experience who is keen to learn, develop their skills and progress within an engineering environment. The role will involve working on a variety of engineering projects, including fabrication, sub-assembly and welding work, with the opportunity to develop your skills across different areas of the workshop and work on larger projects such as transportation ramps.

You don't need to be fully qualified or highly experienced, but you should have some basic practical experience and a genuine interest in developing your welding and fabrication skills. Training and support will be provided as you progress.

Duties will include:

• Carrying out basic MIG welding on a variety of materials

• Fabricating and assembling components

• Assisting with sub-assembly work and welding components together

• Working on larger fabricated structures, including transportation ramp assemblies

• Using hand tools and power tools safely and effectively

• Learning to work from engineering drawings and diagrams

• Carrying out basic quality checks on completed welds and fabricated components

• Maintaining a clean and organised work area

• Following health and safety procedures at all times

• Working as part of a small team to meet production deadlines and maintain high standards

What we're looking for:

• Ideally some basic MIG welding or fabrication experience

• Previous engineering, workshop or practical experience would be beneficial

• A willingness to learn and develop your welding and fabrication skills

• Good practical and hands-on ability

• A positive attitude and willingness to work as part of a team

• The ability to follow instructions and work safely

• An interest in developing a long-term career within engineering

You do not need to be fully qualified or have extensive experience. The important thing is that you have some basic skills and are keen to learn and progress.

Pay & Hours:

Paying £13–£14/h depending on skills and experience, with the opportunity to develop and progress within the company. Working 39 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with an early finish on Friday.
