Summary
Senior / Principal Structural Engineer
Fully Remote | £40,000 - £60,000 + Bonus Scheme
Looking for something a bit different from the average consultancy role?
We're working with a growing structural engineering consultancy that has carved out a specialist niche in the design of Glass Reinforced Concrete (GRC) and precast concrete structures. Whilst still a relatively small business, they're involved in projects many larger consultants would be proud to have on their CV.
Their portfolio includes work across stadiums, high-rise developments, transport hubs, town halls, student accommodation and major commercial schemes, collaborating with contractors, manufacturers and design teams throughout the UK and beyond.
As the business continues to grow, they're looking to appoint a Senior or Principal Structural Engineer who wants genuine responsibility, direct client exposure and the opportunity to help shape the future of the company.
The Role
You'll take ownership of projects from concept through to manufacture and installation, acting as the technical lead whilst working closely with contractors, factories and clients. Responsibilities will include:
- Structural design through all project stages
- Producing calculations, reports and technical documentation
- Liaising directly with clients, contractors and manufacturing teams
- Coordinating designs to ensure efficient fabrication and installation
- Reviewing drawings and detailing packages
- Supporting and developing innovative GRC and precast solutions
- Contributing to business growth and client relationships
What They're Looking For
- Civil Engineering degree
- Minimum 5 years' structural design experience, including sufficient pre-cast concrete experience
- Experience delivering projects independently
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- Report writing and technical documentation experience
- Detailing experience using Revit is beneficial but not essential
- Chartered status welcomed but not required
Why Join?
✅ Fully remote working
✅ Work on specialist projects rarely found in traditional consultancy environments
✅ Direct access to decision-makers and genuine influence within the business
✅ Opportunity to become a recognised expert in the growing GRC sector
✅ Exposure to landmark projects across multiple sectors
✅ Performance-related commission scheme for bringing in new work, with realistic earning potential of up to £20,000 per year
✅ Join a business with ambitious growth plans where your contribution will be visible and valued
