Summary

The role of the Senior Education Mental Health Practitioner within the area of the Nottinghamshire project will include one to one and group work. There will also be opportunity to develop the SEN offer to support young people accessing the MHST service and provide support to staff in education. The interventions delivered will be brief and focused on early intervention. The schools included in this project will have a designated Mental Health Lead, who can refer directly into the service. We work closely alongside these staff as we support them in creating a whole school approach to mental health. You will work with a variety of agencies to ensure a quality service is provided. You will work alongside more junior members of the team, to deliver parent, well-being and 1:1 sessions. There will also be a duty element to the role, alongside facilitating drop-in sessions within schools. You must have two years minimum experience post qualification as an Education Mental Health Practitioner to be eligible for post. You must also have experience of working therapeutically with children, young people and families where there are emotional difficulties within a CAMHS service. It is preferable if you have experience of working in this capacity within schools. The MHST cover the county of Nottinghamshire and have bases across the county, the main base for the team is at Highbury Hospital, Nottingham, NG6 9DR. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment. The cost of the DBS application is £26.40 (standard) or £54.40 (enhanced), this cost will be deducted from your salary over the first 2 months of employment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. An annual fee of £16 per year applies.
