Summary
SEN Supply Teacher (Primary & Secondary) - Taunton
Are you a compassionate, adaptable, and skilled Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teacher looking for flexible day-to-day work? We are seeking dedicated educators to join our team to support mainstream schools and specialist SEN provisions across the Taunton area. If you are passionate about creating an inclusive, nurturing environment where every pupil feels supported to learn and succeed, we want to hear from you!
Responsibilities:
Adaptable Teaching: Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons planned by permanent staff, tailored to meet diverse SEN needs across EYFS and Key Stages 1-4.
Specialist Support: Provide tailored support for pupils with SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs), ADHD, Autism (ASC), and Learning Disabilities (SLD/MLD).
Behaviour Support: Use positive behaviour management strategies and trauma-informed approaches to de-escalate challenging situations and foster a safe classroom environment.
Collaboration: Work closely with Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs), Teaching Assistants (TAs), and school SENCOs to deliver individual education plans (IEPs).
Safe Working: Maintain high standards of safeguarding and follow all school policies regarding pupil well-being.
Qualifications:
Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS) is required. (ECTs/NQTs with relevant SEN experience are welcome to apply).
Experience: Proven track record of working with children or young people with SEMH, ADHD, Autism, or Learning Disabilities.
Flexibility: Comfortable stepping into different school environments across both Primary and Secondary settings at short notice.
Key Skills: Excellent communication, emotional resilience, patience, and a calm, empathetic approach under pressure.
DBS: An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply for one).
