About the Role
We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Global Experiences Coordinator to join our team. This role sits within the Global Experiences team and will initially focus on supporting our short programmes by coordinating summer schools at Lancaster and our global opportunities, including those delivered at our overseas partner campuses.
This is an exciting opportunity, suitable for applicants who wish to gain experience of working in a global team, supporting students to gain skills through our portfolio of opportunities. This varied and challenging role would suit those with the ability to demonstrate impressive organisational and administrative skills, experience in event planning and delivery, and strong interpersonal skills. As an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a student-facing role, this is ideally suited to a highly motivated team player with excellent communication skills and the ability to work calmly under pressure.
Joining the Team
The Global Experiences team works to motivate, engage and enable students in mobility opportunities overseas. We place accessibility at the heart of our programmes to help enable students from widening participation and disadvantaged backgrounds to participate.
The team’s portfolio of work includes studying abroad as part of degree programmes, summer schools and vacation programmes as well as supporting internationalisation at home and digital connections. With strategic partnerships in Ghana, China, Malaysia, Germany and Indonesia, and collaborations worldwide, we are committed to global engagement. You will find lots of additional information on our webpages.
Key Responsibilities
This role will support the planning and delivery of credit-bearing Global Summer Schools and short-term visiting programmes, working with the Global Experiences Officers and colleagues across campus and internationally. The role will:
- Support the coordination and administration of summer schools and visiting programmes, working closely with the Global Experiences Officer, as well as academic departments and professional services at the University.
- Coordinate the recruitment, application and admissions process for the summer schools, managing enquiries, processing applications, maintaining student records, and providing support and guidance to participants through to the delivery of the summer schools.
- Coordinate operational arrangements for programme delivery, including scheduling, booking rooms, preparing programme materials and liaising with internal and external stakeholders.
- Provide comprehensive support to participating students before, during, and after their programme, responding to queries, facilitating orientation activities and signposting students to relevant University support services where necessary.
- Contribute to marketing and promotional activities by creating and updating programme information, supporting information sessions, and maintaining online content, including social media.
- Work cohesively with the Global Experiences team to support across projects.
About You
To succeed in this role, you will be highly organised, proactive, and passionate about international education and student mobility. The role requires strong planning and administrative skills, with the ability to be organised whilst handling multiple priorities, along with excellent communication skills to engage with diverse audiences.
You will join us on a fixed-term contract until the end of April 2027 to cover a member of staff currently on secondment.
If you are applying on a secondment basis, please discuss this with your line manager and obtain authorisation for the potential secondment in advance and make this clear in your application.
