Summary

Job Title: Global Experiences Officer

About the Role

We are seeking a passionate and dynamic Global Experiences Officer to join our team. This exciting role will focus on developing, coordinating and promoting opportunities that enhance global engagement and enrich the student experience, with an initial focus on our inbound Global Summer Schools and short-term programmes. You will play a key role in ensuring the smooth delivery of student mobility programmes, international partnerships, and cross-cultural initiatives.

Joining the Team

The Global Experiences team works to motivate, engage and enable students in mobility opportunities overseas. We place accessibility at the heart of our programmes to help enable students from widening participation and disadvantaged backgrounds to participate.

The team’s portfolio of work includes studying abroad as part of degree programmes, summer schools and vacation programmes as well as supporting internationalisation at home and digital connections. With strategic partnerships in Ghana, China, Malaysia, Germany and Indonesia, and collaborations worldwide, we are committed to global engagement. You will find lots of additional information on our webpages.

Key Responsibilities

This role will lead the design and delivery of credit-bearing summer schools and short-term visiting programmes, working with colleagues across campus and internationally on the following:

  • Develop inbound Global Summer Schools and short-term visiting programmes, liaising with academic departments to design and expand the portfolio of opportunities and coordinating marketing activity to promote the summer schools globally and increase participation in international programmes.
  • Coordinate the recruitment and application process for the Global Summer Schools, supporting students from the point of application through to the delivery of the summer schools.
  • Manage the delivery of the 2027 Global Summer Schools and short-term visiting programmes, working with departments and professional services to ensure the summer schools are delivered to a high standard and collecting feedback and evaluations to assess impact and develop future offerings.
  • Ensure international programmes comply with relevant policies, regulations and best practices.
  • Develop systems and processes to sustain strong global partnerships and high-quality student support.
  • Work cohesively with the Global Experiences team to support across projects.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will be highly organised, proactive, and passionate about international education and student mobility. The role requires strong project and event management skills, with the ability to be organised whilst handling multiple priorities, along with excellent communication skills to engage with diverse audiences.

You will join us on a fixed-term contract until the end of January 2028 to cover maternity leave.

If you are applying on a secondment basis, please discuss this with your line manager and obtain authorisation for the potential secondment in advance and make this clear in your application.

If you have any questions or would like an informal discussion about the role, please contact Paul Wood, Head of Global Experience and Mobility, at p.wood4@lancaster.ac.uk.
