The role

Based at our Headington campus (with hybrid working) and reporting to the Web and Digital Communications Manager, the Digital Experience Projects Manager will be responsible for managing and overseeing strategic digital experience projects across our student experience portal and staff intranet (ServiceNow Employee Centre). Working closely with the Web and Digital team, the ServiceNow platform team, and the Communications team, you will identify, design, deliver, and review user experience improvement projects aligned with our content vision and strategy to ensure learning continually informs decision-making.

This is a full time, fixed term role for 18 months.

About the team

The Strategic Marketing and Communications department operates within the Marketing, Recruitment & Engagement Directorate to advance the profile and reputation of Oxford Brookes University. The team leads on strategic digital user experience, web content, and multi-channel communications to drive student engagement and support university recruitment and engagement objectives. Working in close collaboration with internal stakeholders, platform engineering teams, and academic faculties, the team is committed to user-centric innovation, continuous feedback, and delivering seamless digital experience solutions across our portals and channels.

What will I be doing?

- Identify, prioritise, and scope strategic user experience projects across the student experience portal and staff intranet.

- Project manage digital user experience projects from inception to review, including requirement gathering, planning, scheduling, and managing change requests.

- Manage portal and intranet content and functionality changes, including writing, editing, and building new sections aligned with strategic objectives.

- Plan, develop, and deliver user experience workshops and discovery sessions with stakeholders across various seniority levels.

- Conduct in-depth user research utilising content audits, web analytics, usability studies, SEO reviews, A/B testing, focus groups, and surveys.

- Analyse user research findings and present detailed user behavior reports and recommendations to university committees and key stakeholders.

- Support the ServiceNow Platform team by investigating issues, defining functional requirements, preparing work items, and conducting functional and regression testing.

About the location:

Based at our Headington campus, you’ll experience the vibrant campus atmosphere and benefit from our modern office environment. The campus is located one mile from the centre of Oxford and is served by regular public transport. This role will be offered on a hybrid working basis, combining campus-based collaboration with working from home.
