We are experiencing high demand for reliable, enthusiastic QTS and QTLS English specialists to deliver engaging English Language and English Literature lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (with Key Stage 5 opportunities also available).

Long-Term Opportunities: If you prefer building ongoing relationships with departments and students, we offer fixed-term subject placements spanning a term or a full academic year. This allows you to teach your core subject, contribute to curriculum development, and embed yourself fully within a school community.

Key Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging, structured English Language and English Literature lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, fostering a love for reading, analytical writing, and creative expression.

Create a positive, safe, and productive classroom environment using effective behaviour management strategies in line with school policies.

Adapt learning delivery to accommodate students with diverse learning styles and Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND).

Leave clear handover notes for regular class teachers when fulfilling day-to-day cover assignments.

For long-term roles: plan, assess, and mark work, track student progress against GCSE criteria, participate in department meetings, and contribute to parents' evenings as required.

What We Look For:

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or QTLS (or recognised UK teaching qualification).

Strong classroom management skills and the confidence to step into unfamiliar secondary settings with ease.

Specialist subject knowledge in English Language and Literature across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4.

An adaptable, punctual, and professional approach with excellent communication skills.

A valid Enhanced DBS check registered on the Update Service (or a willingness to complete one).
