Summary
About you:
We are looking for an organised and customer focused Project Support Officer to help our planning service deliver high quality, sustainable development across Exeter. You will communicate confidently with a wide range of people, manage competing demands and produce accurate, high-quality work to tight timescales. You will work effectively as part of a team and demonstrate a flexible approach and a strong commitment to customer care. Experience of handling payments would be an advantage, and a willingness to be flexible and work outside normal office hours occasionally when required.
About the role:
As Project Support Officer, you will provide varied administrative support for the Development Management team. Your work will include maintaining planning records and databases, coordinating meetings, preparing and circulating documents, supporting consultation and community engagement, responding to customer and stakeholder enquiries, and producing performance information. You will also process payments and income records. This broad role offers the opportunity to support projects that shape Exeter’s growth and make a positive contribution to the city.
About the team:
You will join the Development Management team within City Development and work closely with colleagues responsible for processing planning applications across the city. The team works collaboratively to provide a responsive, high quality service to residents, applicants and other stakeholders while supporting sustainable development across Exeter. As a lean team, we build learning into day-to-day work: you will receive practical on-the-job training, guidance from experienced colleagues and opportunities to develop your knowledge across the wider planning service.
