Primary Early Career Teacher
Location: South Manchester
Start Date: ASAP
Role: Day-to-day and short-term supply, with potential for longer-term opportunities
Pay: £130-£170 per day, depending on experience
Cover People are looking for Primary Early Career Teachers (ECTs) to join our supply team and work across primary schools throughout South Manchester.
Whether you're looking to build confidence in the classroom, gain experience across different schools or simply want flexibility around your availability, supply teaching can offer a great way to develop your career.
The majority of opportunities are day-to-day and short-term, with the possibility of longer-term placements becoming available for teachers who are looking for something more permanent.
As a Primary ECT working through Cover People, you could be placed in a variety of primary settings and year groups. Assignments may involve:
- Taking responsibility for a class during teacher absence
- Delivering lessons using existing school planning
- Adapting activities to suit different abilities and learning needs
- Maintaining positive behaviour and classroom routines
- Supporting pupils with their academic and personal development
- Working alongside Teaching Assistants and other school staff
- Providing continuity of learning throughout the school day
- Building positive relationships with pupils and staff
We're keen to speak with Primary ECTs who are enthusiastic, adaptable and ready to develop their teaching experience.
You will need:
- QTS or an appropriate teaching qualification
- Recent primary school teaching experience, including school placements
- Confidence managing a classroom
- The ability to adapt quickly to different schools and year groups
- A positive and professional approach
- Strong communication and organisational skills
- A genuine commitment to helping children achieve their potential
- Flexible day-to-day and short-term assignments
- Potential to secure longer-term placements
