Dedicated Primary SEN Teacher Required - Ashington

A nurturing and inclusive school in Ashington is seeking an enthusiastic and committed Primary SEN Teacher to join their team on a full-time, long-term temporary basis with an immediate start.

This rewarding opportunity is ideal for a teacher who is passionate about supporting children with Special Educational Needs and helping them reach their full potential within a positive, supportive learning environment.

The Role

Deliver engaging, tailored lessons to primary-aged pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs

Create a safe, supportive and inclusive classroom environment

Develop and implement individualised learning strategies to meet pupils' specific needs

Work closely with teaching assistants, SENCOs, parents and external agencies

Monitor, assess and track pupil progress, adapting approaches where necessary

Promote positive behaviour, emotional wellbeing and pupil engagement

The Ideal Candidate

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Experience working with pupils with SEND, either within a mainstream or specialist setting

Strong understanding of a range of learning needs, including autism, ADHD, SEMH and communication difficulties

Excellent classroom management and behaviour support skills

Patient, resilient and adaptable approach

Strong communication and teamwork skills

Essential Requirements

Enhanced DBS Certificate registered on the Update Service

Right to work in the UK

Recent and relevant teaching references

Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
