Job Summary:
The Accounts Executive will be responsible for managing the financial operations of the care
agency, ensuring accuracy in invoicing, payroll processing, tax compliance, and financial
reporting. The role involves maintaining financial records, preparing budgets, managing client
contracts, and ensuring compliance with HMRC and CQC financial regulations. The ideal
candidate will have experience in accounting, bookkeeping, and financial management within
the healthcare or care sector.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Management & Reporting

Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, including profit and loss
statements and balance sheets.
Assist in budget planning, forecasting, and cost control strategies to support agency
growth.
Conduct financial analysis to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
2. Client Contracts & Billing
• Draft, review, and manage financial agreements with clients receiving care services.
Ensure all contracts comply with company policies and regulatory requirements.
Generate and issue invoices for care services, ensuring accuracy and timely payments.
Monitor accounts receivable and follow up on outstanding payments.
3. Payroll Processing & Staff Payments
• Collaborate with accountant to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing for
caregivers and office staff.

Ensure compliance with HMRC payroll tax regulations, including PAYE and NIC
contributions.
4. Tax Compliance & HMRC Reporting
• Prepare and discuss with accountant VAT retuns, PAYE reports, and corporation tax
filings in compliance with HMRC regulations.
Ensure timely and accurate completion of annual financial reports and tax filings.
Assist with tax audits and respond to HMRC inquiries.
Stay updated on changes in UK tax laws and financial regulations affecting the care
sector.
5. Accounts payable & Bank Reconciliation
• process accounts payable, ensuring timely payments to suppliers and care staff.
• Perform monthly bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy in financial records.
• Maintain an organized system for tracking expenses and transactions.
6. Compliance & Internal Auditing
• Ensure financial records comply with CQC and HMRC regulations.
• Support internal and external audits by maintaining accurate documentation.
• Implement financial policies and best practices for efficient financial management.
Qualifications & Requirements:
Education: Degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a
related field.
Experience: Prior experience in accounting, finance, or bookkeeping (preferably in a
care agency or healthcare setting).
Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software, company application (Nourish)
and Microsoft Excel.
Attention to Detail: Strong numerical and analytical skills with a high level of accuracy.
Time Management: Ability to manage multiple financial tasks and meet strict
deadlines.
Knowledge of UK Tax Regulations: Understanding of PAYE, VAT, corporation tax, and
HMRC filing requirements.
Desirable:
Familiarity with CQC/CIW financial requirements for care agencies.
Experience handling client contracts and service agreements.
Knowledge of pension schemes and payroll tax laws.
