Summary

My very busy well-established recycling clients are now looking to add to their ever-increasing workload a Supervisor.

Wage is hourly rate plus 20% Leadership Allowance - £19.14 p/h plus £3.83 p/h. £22.97

08:00 to 16:30 Monday to Thursday and 08:00 14:00 Friday (30 min unpaid lunch) - 37.5 hours pw.

Salary

They must have proven leadership experience and ideally a desire to progress into Production Management with the right attitude to do so. It is a hands on role, not a sit in an office and observe. They will be doing the work alongside the team and visible on site ensuring the shifts are all being ran properly. They have to be able to have calm, constructive conversations where needed and competent owning performance issues with support from HR.

Job Purpose

The Building 2 Supervisor is responsible for leading and coordinating all production activities across the PVC Recycling operation in Building 2, ensuring safe, efficient, and compliant manufacturing performance. Acting as the direct manager of the Shift Team Leaders, the role provides operational leadership, drives continuous improvement initiatives, and ensures the achievement of safety, quality, productivity, and cost objectives.

The Building 2 Supervisor serves as the critical link between frontline operations and the Production Manager, translating strategic objectives into operational execution while developing leadership capability across shift teams.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience

Essential

Significant experience within a manufacturing, recycling, process, or industrial production environment.

Proven experience managing frontline leaders and operational teams.

Strong knowledge of health, safety, and environmental management systems.

Experience leading continuous improvement initiatives and driving operational excellence.

Demonstrated ability to analyse performance data and implement sustainable improvements.

Strong leadership, communication, coaching, and problem-solving skills.

Experience managing operational KPIs and performance improvement plans.

Desirable

Experience within plastics, polymer processing, recycling, waste management, or related industries.

Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, or Continuous Improvement qualification.

IOSH Managing Safely, NEBOSH, or equivalent HSE qualification.

Knowledge of ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 management systems.

Experience with TPM and Asset Care programmes.
