You will have the opportunity to benefit from our flexible and agile working practices. This means you will work from home for part of your week and spend some time in council buildings to best suit your work, meetings and collaboration.

Help Shape Development Across Angus:

Angus Council is seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our Development Standards Team as an Assistant Planning Officer on a 12-month maternity cover contract.

This is an excellent opportunity to gain experience in a busy development management environment, assisting with the processing and assessment of planning applications, providing advice to applicants, agents and members of the public and helping deliver a high-quality planning service across Angus. The role will involve validating applications, carrying out site visits, assessing proposals against planning policy, preparing reports, and supporting planning appeals and reviews.

About You:

You will have an interest in planning and development, strong communication and organisational skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a team. Experience of the planning system, development management processes, or a similar regulatory environment would be advantageous.
