Summary

Are you looking to build your career in SEO and develop your digital marketing skills within a collaborative and supportive team?

We’re looking for an organised, curious and proactive SEO Assistant to join our SEO team and support organic growth across our UK and EMEA home interiors brands.

Reporting to the SEO Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting the day to day delivery of our SEO activity, helping to keep our websites optimised, technically healthy and visible across search.

This is a varied, hands on role where you’ll gain exposure to all areas of SEO, from keyword research and on page optimisation to technical SEO, website QA, internal linking and performance reporting. You’ll work closely with colleagues across Content, Development, Analytics and Digital PR, as well as our external agency partners.

You’ll take ownership of regular SEO activities and smaller projects, while continuing to build your knowledge, develop your skills and take on more responsibility as your experience grows.

Key responsibilities

Support the day to day delivery of SEO activity across our UK and EMEA websites, keeping trackers, documentation and tasks accurate and up to date.

Carry out keyword, competitor and search trend research to identify opportunities across different brands and markets.

Support on-page optimisation, including page titles, meta descriptions, headings, website content and internal linking.

Carry out technical SEO and website QA checks, identifying issues relating to broken links, redirects, crawling, indexation and SEO implementation.

Help collect, analyse and organise SEO performance data using tools such as Google Search Console and GA4, highlighting any notable trends or changes.

Support international SEO activity, including localisation checks and market-specific website QA.

Collaborate with internal teams and agency partners to ensure SEO recommendations and improvements are implemented effectively.

What we are looking for

You don’t need to know everything about SEO already. We’re looking for someone who is enthusiastic about developing their career in search and digital marketing, with a genuine curiosity about how content, websites and search work together to drive organic growth.

Ideally, you’ll have:

Some previous experience within SEO, digital marketing, ecommerce, content marketing or a similar area, or a strong interest in developing a career in SEO.

A good understanding of SEO fundamentals, including keywords, search intent, on-page optimisation, crawling, indexation and internal linking.

Excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to your work.

Good analytical and problem-solving skills, with confidence working with data and identifying potential issues.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Great organisation and time-management skills, with the ability to balance multiple priorities.

Good Microsoft Excel skills and confidence working with spreadsheets.

Experience using, or an eagerness to learn, SEO tools such as Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog and Ahrefs or SEMrush.

Experience working with a website CMS would be beneficial, but isn’t essential.

A proactive and collaborative approach, with the confidence to ask questions, learn from feedback and take ownership of your work.

A genuine interest in SEO and the evolving digital landscape, including how AI and emerging technologies are changing the way people search.

Above all, we’re looking for someone who is keen to learn, develop and grow their SEO career with us.

Why join us?

Joining Hillary means becoming part of a supportive and inclusive business where you’ll have the opportunity to learn from experienced colleagues, develop your SEO knowledge and make a genuine contribution to our digital growth.

Alongside the opportunity to develop your career, you’ll also enjoy a great range of benefits, including:

Generous colleague discounts for you, your family and friends

Healthcare and lifestyle benefits

A variety of wellbeing initiatives

Hybrid working, with 1 day per week from home

A supportive and inclusive culture

A fantastic Nottingham office environment

Opportunities to learn, develop and grow your career

We know there’s no one-size-fits-all approach when it comes to people. We’re proud to create an inclusive workplace where every colleague feels valued, supported and empowered to be themselves.

If you require any reasonable adjustments at any stage of the recruitment process, please let us know and we’ll be happy to support you.
