You've already learned how much happens during the first few years of a child's development.
Now you could use that experience within a primary school.
Prebook Recruitment is supporting a friendly school in Harrow that is looking for a qualified Level 3 Childcare Practitioner to work within its Early Years provision, starting as soon as possible.
This role would suit someone from a nursery, preschool or childcare background who wants to broaden their experience, or an existing EYFS practitioner looking for a new long-term school opportunity.
You'll play an important role in helping children become confident learners while developing your own experience within education.
Children in Early Years are constantly discovering something new.
A conversation can develop vocabulary. Building a tower can introduce early maths. Sharing toys can become an opportunity to develop communication and social skills.
You'll help turn these everyday moments into opportunities for learning and development.
Working alongside the class teacher and wider EYFS team, you'll:
- Support children during play and structured activities.
- Encourage speech, language and communication.
- Reinforce early phonics, literacy and numeracy.
- Help children develop positive relationships with their peers.
- Encourage curiosity, creativity and problem-solving.
- Support personal, social and emotional development.
- Help children become increasingly independent.
- Provide individual support when a child needs additional help.
- Support children with SEND or developmental needs where appropriate.
- Help children manage routines and transitions.
- Prepare resources and engaging learning activities.
- Support indoor and outdoor provision.
- Observe children's development and share useful information with colleagues.
Children don't all develop in exactly the same way or at exactly the same pace.
Some may need extra encouragement to communicate. Others might need support with social interaction, attention, sensory needs or emotional regulation.
Your experience of observing children, recognising changes and adjusting your approach will be an important part of the role.
You'll work with teachers and other professionals to ensure children receive appropriate support while continuing to encourage choice, confidence and independence.
You'll need a recognised Level 3 Childcare or Early Years qualification together with experience working with young children.

An Enhanced DBS, or willingness to obtain one, will be required.
